Gregory Slaughter

Master Gregory Slaughter began his study of the Martial Arts while serving an overseas tour with the United States Marine Corps, Okinawa Japan, 1971. He studied Okinawan Kempo under the instruction of Sensei Odo. Upon his Honorable discharge from the Corps, Master Slaughter joined, Mr. James Tae Kwon Do Academy Philadelphia, under the instruction of James L. Mitchell, and Keith R. McKinley. He was promoted to Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do by the World Tae Kwon Do Federation (WTF). Upon leaving the WTF, Master Slaughter founded the Bethany Karate Academy and became the first inner city World Tang Soo Do Association School. Most recently Master Slaughter was promoted to 7th Dan in April 2010 by the Universal Sang Do Kwan Alliance.

Master Slaughter founded the Bethany Karate Academy in 1988 where he has served as the Chief Instructor. Our school name was changed to Golden Armor Karate in 2010. The Academy’s mission has been, and still remains; to provide an affordable and quality martial arts program, with the goal of enriching lives, and enhance the students’ physical fitness. Many of his students have competed in local and national tournaments and achieved National Championship Awards. Our school motto; continue in the Fighting and Indomitable Spirit of the Arts.

Master Slaughter is a graduate of the Sylvania Technical Institute, Cherry Hill N.J. with certificates in Electronic Engineering. He served as a Senior Technical Representative for 42 years, 39 of those years with the Xerox Corporation. He also has a First Level Management Certificate from the Xerox Training Center, Leesburg, Va. Master Slaughter is a continuing student of the Martial Arts and Electronic technology.
